We’re Celebrating Random Acts of Kindness Day – Will You Join Us?
The www.randomactsofkindness.org campaign is clear: make kindness the norm. This sounds good to us. Let’s create kindness every day, not just on Random Acts of Kindness Day, which falls on February 17th.
Acts of kindness are especially appreciated by anyone suffering from MS, a chronic neurological disease with no cure, because like anyone with an invisible illness, life can get tough.
People who suffer from MS truly deserve kindness as they deal with varying physical and mental symptoms, and they can attest to how hard life with this illness can be on the more challenging days.
Imagine for a minute living with pain, memory difficulties, and balance challenges. Now add financial worries, uncertainty, and anxiety to the mix. MS is different for each person, however, these are the common hurdles that many MS patients must jump. When we understand that they often need scans, drugs, medical check-ups, at-home aids, rest, and support, we realize why stress and worry accompany these dark days. Anyone with MS will tell you: a little kindness goes a long way.

Spreading sunshine
Together, let’s mark Random Acts of Kindness Day, and let’s keep it going. After all, there’s no limit to the amount of kindness we can send out into the world.
“Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness.” – Lucius Annaeus Seneca.
We can spread some sunshine to someone suffering from MS in many ways. Think about how you can:
- Advocate
- Support in a practical way
- Donate
- Raise awareness
- Fundraise
- Talk
- Encourage

The Power of one kind act
You see, it all started with one kind act. When Kelly-Ann and brother-in-law Jim saw sister Christine struggle through the emotional, physical, and financial demands of MS, they decided to help. That’s how MS Happens was born.
But you know the really cool thing about kindness? It’s contagious. It’s inspiring. It can snowball, gathering love and support as it goes.
You might recall when Jim shaved his head, added rainbow colors, and trimmed his beard into a mustache. And it wasn’t a fashion statement, fun as it was to watch. It was all to bring awareness to MS and to raise much-needed funds. These days, Kelly-Ann is training for the World Marathon Challenge in aid of MS Happens, and with every step she takes, she’s improving the lives of not just her sister but the many people that the foundation helps.
