MS HAPPENS

Providing Grassroots Assistance to Greater Tampa Bay
OUR STORY

SISTERS

Her fight is my fight. 🧡

When Kelly-Ann learned her sister, Christine, was diagnosed with MS, she knew something had to be done, and that’s when MS Happens was formed.

We are here to be a safe haven, a resource, and a helping hand to both individuals and families who are battling the effects of MS.

Follow along to hear more about our story, and learn how you can be a part of the change!

Have you heard of the spoon analogy for chronic il Have you heard of the spoon analogy for chronic illnesses?

It's the idea that you start each day with a certain number of spoons that represent the amount of energy you have for tasks that day. People with MS or another chronic illness have fewer spoons or energy.

The number of spoons you have, or how many spoons your daily living requires, can change from day to day. It’s important to monitor your energy level and know when your spoons are nearly out so you don't exhaust yourself before the end of the day.

Saying you’re running out of spoons can be a simplified way to communicate to others that you are struggling with energy or symptoms.

Have you ever used the spoon analogy in your care plan? Is it something you’d consider trying?
